Competitive and market research
Understand how buyers compare their options before deciding what to change. Levered researches competitors, offers and buying paths to inform positioning and marketing priorities.
The store worked. Most buyers never reached it.
An industrial company’s store let visitors browse prices and buy without logging in. It lived on another domain, with no cart icon on the main brand site. Only 3.6% of brand-site visitors reached the store, compared with 18.4% for a comparable operator.
The diagnostic compared the business and four competitors using the same scorecard, supported by screenshots and page-source checks. The recommended sequence addressed store visibility, lengthy forms and tracking between domains before increasing media spend.
Diagnostic engagement only. Recommendations were not implemented in this work; no conversion or revenue lift is claimed. The peer comparison is context, not a guaranteed target.

Scope of work
- 1.Define the decision and peer set
- 2.Review current primary sources and buying journeys
- 3.Translate findings into specific priorities
What we need to begin
- 1.Buyer context, actual alternatives and a decision owner
How we evaluate progress
- 1.Source quality and usefulness to a concrete decision
What you get
- A sourced peer and alternatives review
- Observed journey or offer comparisons
- A prioritized recommendation with uncertainty
- Use current primary sources where possible. Search visibility, brand reputation and a page score measure different things.
Where we might start
Choose a buying decision, define a credible peer set and assess the relevant journeys or claims using the same stated rubric.
Common questions
Is a competitor score a result in itself?+
No. A score can organize evidence, but its rubric and observations must be visible. The useful output is a defensible set of actions, not an arbitrary grade.
Will you tell us who to copy?+
The useful result is which buyer need or operational gap deserves attention. A competitor's surface treatment is not proof that its strategy caused growth.
